Entitlement Hater Paul Ryan Was A Social Security Baby
April 19, 2011
By Ray Medeiros

When Representative Paul Ryan was 16 years old , tragedy struck his family. His 55 year old father had passed away from a heart attack. Young Paul Ryan found his father’s lifeless body and was burdened by the fact that he had to tell his mother and siblings of this horrible situation.

After his father’s passing, young Paul Ryan started collecting social security benefits until the age of 18 years old. He took this benefit and saved it for his college education. Representative Paul Ryan is one example of the millions of people whose lives have depended on our social contract with the American people. Without this benefit, his mother would have had to make even tougher decisions and Representative Paul Ryan may not have been able to pay for his college education. This social contract lifted him and his entire family out of a tough situation.

Many people do not know that 30% of the social security fund goes directly to widows, orphans and the disabled. It is not solely for the benefit of retirees. Unfortunately this social contract is under a regressive attack by the Republicans, including Paul Ryan.

Under Paul Ryan’s Roadmap for America budget, he wants to take a portion of social security and funnel it to Wall Street to gamble with, rather than having the current program stand as it is, as an insurance program rather than an investment. Not to mention Ayn Rand (THE GODDESS OF THE REPUCLICAN IDEOLOGY) took government assistance while decrying others who did the same

Mark Frauenfelder

Noted speed freak, serial-killer fangirl, and Tea Party hero Ayn Rand was also a kleptoparasite, sneakily gobbling up taxpayer funds under an assumed name [note: it might have been her legal name] to pay for her medical treatments after she got lung cancer.

An interview with Evva Pryror, a social worker and consultant to Miss Rand’s law firm of Ernst, Cane, Gitlin and Winick verified that on Miss Rand’s behalf she secured Rand’s Social Security and Medicare payments which Ayn received under the name of Ann O’Connor (husband Frank O’Connor).
As Pryor said, “Doctors cost a lot more money than books earn and she could be totally wiped out” without the aid of these two government programs. Ayn took the bail out even though Ayn “despised government interference and felt that people should and could live independently… She didn’t feel that an individual should take help.”

But alas she did and said it was wrong for everyone else to do so.

Someone on my clipmark blog commented that we grandmas’ should go after that young whipper-snapper Ryan and beat em up with our canes… I don’t have a cane yet but I can swing a powerful rake (I made another trail in our 5 acre woods bringing the total trails to 5…)

I saw Ryan on MORNING JOE DOING HIS DANCE… WOW he said the Republican’s lost because of demagoguery by the Democrats who deliberately set out to… get this… SCARE SENIORS… TALK ABOUT THE POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK… The GOPS don’t even REALIZE THEIR HYPOCRISY. thinkingblue
Paul Ryan explains GOP’s loss in NY-26

Paul Ryan, on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, offering his take on why Republican Jane Corwin lost to Democrat, Kathy Hochul, last night in New York’s 26th congressional district.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Are you saying that the loss of this seat [Congressional seat NY-26] is because of the demigoguing of this issue (Medicare] and not exactly what you’re proposing?

RYAN: Yes, but mostly I think when you have a Democrat running as a tea party, spending over $2 million, making it a three way race, that’s going to hurt the Republican a lot, so I think the primary problem is the third party that got involved here.

But Mediscare — look, I saw the ads in that district, I saw burning people’s Medicare cards — if you can scare seniors into thinking that their current benefits are being effected, that’s going to have an effect, and that is exactly what took place here.

So yes, it’s demagoguery, it’s scaring seniors.

Democrats have tried to paint the election as a referendum on Paul Ryan’s Medicare plan.

HEY DID HE SAY “A DEMOCRAT RUNNING AS A TEA PARTY” HUH????? thinkingblue

The End Is Near or THE END IS HERE

On more than 1,200 billboards, in full-page newspapers ads and on all the major news networks, Camping has generated national coverage with his warning to the world that the Day of Judgment begins at 6 p.m. today (I’m not sure if that’s Eastern Standard Time or Central Standard Time). http://www2.hernandotoday.com/content/2011/may/21/HAOPINO1-the-world-will-end-at-6-pm-today/

Forget the guy carrying the sign that reads “The End Is Near.” According to a man named Harold Camping “The End Is Here!” A doomsday forecaster is nothing new. We’ve always had them and always will (the Mayan calendar predicts the world will end December 21, 2012). So will the end of days happen today?
Here is “my prediction” … At 6:01 p.m., millions of people will not mysteriously be missing (the “rapture”), nor will a mother of all earthquakes show up on any Richter scale as Camping predicts.

YES THESE CRACKPOTS WILL ALWAYS BE AROUND AS LONG AS THERE ARE FRUITCAKES WHO LISTEN TO THEIR ABSURD, INSANE PREDICTIONS… GET REAL FOLKS… :-( I might as well just whistle in the dark!)thinkingblue

PS: A big thanks to MAXINE… She came through again with her folksy wisdom. :-)

WHISTLE IN THE DARK – “Be cheerful or optimistic in a situation that doesn’t warrant cheer or optimism. It is a great temptation to try to cheer oneself up by whistling or singing in a dark and lonely place. Sigmund Freud, in ‘The Problem of Anxiety’ , had a thought on the practice: ‘When the wayfarer whistles in the dark, he may be disavowing his timidity, but he does not see any the more clearer for doing so.’ The notion that one should whistle in difficult circumstances to show that one is not concerned or frightened can be found in Robert Blair’s ‘The Grave; : ‘The Schoolboy.Whistling aloud to bear his Courage up.’
