The American Heritage Dictionary's defines fear as thus:
fear n.
1.a. A feeling of agitation and
anxiety caused by the presence or imminence of danger.
b. A state or
condition marked by this feeling: living in fear.
2. A feeling of disquiet or
apprehension: a fear of looking foolish.
3. Extreme reverence or awe, as toward
a supreme power. 4.
A reason for dread or apprehension: Being alone is my greatest fear.
What a powerful emotion FEAR is; An
intense mental state that has been used and abused by those who's only
desire is power, wealth and domination over others, throughout the history of mankind.
Imagine, for an instant, fear being eradicated
from our collective psyche ...

Presidents could no longer use fear to drive their passions for WAR!
Throughout his war speeches, Bush has shown that he
is very aware of the power of fear in motivating people. A brief look at his
speeches shows a repetitious use of words such as "terror," "mass
destruction," "immense risks" and "threat." In his 2003 State of the Union
address, Bush said, "Imagine
those 19 hijackers with other weapons, and other plans - this time armed by
Saddam Hussein. It would take just one vial, one
canister, one crate slipped into this country to bring a day of horror like
none we have ever known." from:

And of course there is now voluminous evidence that the
powerful clique inside the administration that had been agitating for war
against Iraq since before the inauguration immediately seized upon the tragedy
of 9-11 as a terrific opportunity to accomplish what they had not been able to
do beforehand: invade a country that had not attacked us and didn't threaten
us. -

Fear:
Emotion used to persuade people to buy. For example by describing for the

I think fundamentalism and extremism, whether Christian, Muslim or Jewish,
is about power, control and money. They use fear to intimidate and control
good-hearted, Godly people. They have warped the message of love & mercy that
Jesus died to deliver. And they are doing it for their personal gain and to
retain their power. I believe Robertson and Falwell make God sick when they

Ann Coulter, who wrote in a syndicated column

The column outraged the public, but conservatives, including National

Let's believe her. When she says she's a
patriotic American and that she typifies patriotic Americans, let's agee that
she does. American history is filled with people who have used hateful words
to enrich themselves and to destroy others who were quite often weaker or more
vulnerable than themselves. On every middle school playground in America,
right now, some bully is tormenting some other, weaker child out of the sight
of the adults, and some of the other children are egging him on, and still
other children are watching from the sidelines. It's as American as apple pie.
As she demonstrates with the filth she spews out of her mouth and her pen,
Americans aren't nice or decent people, and conservative, overtly patriotic
Americans are even less decent and less nice. They do harm, and they like to
do harm, just as she likes to do harm, and they even expect to profit from the
harm they do. At the very least, they expect to get a laugh. That's been her
defense all along--she's just making jokes and liberals don't get the jokes.
But there are other motivations: Maybe her real motivation is making a buck,
and obviously, making a hateful buck is easy, because it's the all-American
thing to do--look at Father Coughlin or Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson. The
number of bucks she's making is an index of how hate-filled and indecent
Americans are--not fake Americans, but real Americans. If real Amerrtican
didn't have her on their shows and buy her books, then they would have nothing
to be ashamed of, but they do, and they have. -

THE SADDEST FEAR CAMPAIGN EVENT OF MODERN TIMES
If, Hitler did not have this emotional weapon at his
disposal the
HOLOCAUST may not have happened.
Hitler used fear like no
other...:
The
storm troopers also carried out terrible acts of violence against
socialists and communists. In one incident in Silesia, a young member of the
KPD had his eyes poked out with a billiard cue and was then stabbed to death
in front of his mother. Four members of the SA were convicted of the rime.
Many people were shocked when Hitler sent a letter of support for the four men
and promised to do what he could to get them released.
Incidents such as these worried many Germans, and in the elections that took
place in November 1932 the support for the Nazi Party fell. The
German Communist Party made substantial gains in the election winning 100
seats. Hitler used this to create a sense of panic by claiming that German was
on the verge of a
Bolshevik Revolution and only the NSDAP could prevent this happening.
A group
of prominent industrialists who feared such a revolution sent a petition to
Paul von Hindenburg asking for Hitler to become Chancellor.
Hindenburg
reluctantly agreed to their request and at the age of forty-three, Hitler
became the new Chancellor of Germany.
Although
Hitler had the support of certain sections of the German population he never
gained an elected majority. The best the
National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP) could do in a election was
37.3 per cent of the vote they gained in July 1932. When Hitler became
chancellor in January 1933, the Nazis only had a third of the seats in the
Reichstag.
Soon
after Hitler became chancellor he announced new elections.
Hermann Goering called a meeting of important industrialists where he told
them that the
1933 General Election could be the last in Germany for a very long time.
Goering added that the NSDAP would need a considerable amount of of money to
ensure victory. Those present responded by donating 3 million Reichmarks. As
Joseph Goebbels wrote in his diary after the meeting: "Radio and press are
at our disposal. Even money is not lacking this time." from:http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/GERhitler.htm
He also used fear in his plans to invade other
countries:
Hitler's psychological artillery was composed primarily of the weapon of
fear. He had, for example, a network of fifth columnists whose main job was to
sow rumors and suspicions among the citizens of the countries against which he
eventually planned to fight. The people were upset not only by the spy system
itself, but by the very rumor of spies. These fifth columnists spread slogans
of defeat and political confusion: "Why should France die for England?" Fear
began to direct people's actions. Instead of facing the real threat of German
invasion, instead of preparing for it, all of Europe shuddered at spy stories,
discussed irrelevant problems, argued endlessly about scapegoats and
minorities. Thus Hitler used the rampant, vague fears to becloud the real
issues, and by attacking his enemies' will to fight, weakened them. from:

And last but certainly not least, if terrorist groups could not use fear...
they wouldn't have martyrs, train and die for them. But my question
is, how do they eradicate the fear of death in the people they recruit to blow
themselves up? Why do people want to commit suicide for a cause?
Motivation of the Islamic Terrorists
Ever since 9/11/01, Americans have been mystified by
the motivation of the terrorists of that day. Actually, for many years, Israel
has faced regular incidents with terrorists with the same motivation. It is
hoped that this essay will help clarify some issues.
Those 19 Muslims of 9/11 are nearly always referred to as "suicide bombers"
as are all of them in Israeli incidents. That certainly is the reality of the
situation, but it is quite different from what they perceive it to be.
Yes, to some extent, there were political motivations, and the desire to
please their leader, and the responsibility to follow orders. But a much
higher motivation exists within extremist Islamic terrorists, a religious
motivation. Since around 1970, a small but growing group of aberrant Muslims
have been teaching a VERY improper understanding of their religious Koran.
Since Muslims all believe that the Koran is the very words of God (Allah)
Himself, when they are taught bizarre interpretations of the meaning of some
sections of it, they come to truly believe that they are REQUIRED to do
terrorist acts, against Israel (their "enemy") and the United States (Israel's
friend, so their perceived "enemy"). On top of this believed requirement for
such acts is the bonus of believing that, having done it (in a specific way),
they will immediately go to Paradise (Heaven).
First of all, the Muslim Koran is much more similar to the Christian Bible
than most people realize. Specifically, it VERY clearly states that suicide,
under ANY conditions, is banned and a terrible sin. An example is in Sura 3,
Imram's Family (3.139), "It is not for any soul to die, save by God's
permission written down for an appointed time."
Therefore, from those terrorists' viewpoints, they are DEFINITELY not
committing suicide!
It is necessary to now look at a small portion of their Holy Book, the
Koran (Qur'an). In Sura (Chapter) 47, paragraph 4 and 5 are:
And when ye meet those who misbelieve - then striking off heads until
ye have massacred them, and bind fast the bonds!
Then either a free grant (of liberty) or a ransom until the war shall
have laid down its burdens. That! - but if God please He would conquer them
- but (it is) that He may try some of you by the others. And those who
are slain in God's cause, their works shall not go wrong; He will guide them
and set right their mind; and will make them enter into Paradise which He
has told them of.
These two paragraphs seem to be the source of the
problem. (Actually, there are some similar passages in the Koran, such as
Suras 2.159 and 3.169 which indicate that those holy warriors who died
fighting in God's cause are alive and in His Presence now.)
The many thousands of words in the rest of the Koran are generally very
peace-filled, probably far more so than the extensive violence in the Old
Testament of the Bible. Muhammad virtually always taught his followers to be
peaceful (except when either threatened or attacked, or when the "Taurah" [the
first five Books of the Bible] were un-believed or mis-believed) (particularly
in Suras that were composed when he was still in Mecca). Nearly all Muslims
properly understand that and are extremely peaceful people, with impressive
behavior and sound morals and ethics.
The context of the Koran makes clear that Muhammad expressed these specific
comments in reference to defending "the Book" (actually meaning the first five
Books of the Jewish Bible, what we call the Torah or Pentateuch, beginning
with Genesis) from un-believers. He was explaining the importance of the Faith
and that it deserved the maximum defense that could be provided for it. This
essay was first placed on the Internet in January 2002.

ps: Below are a couple of articles about FEAR and what we can do to
not allow it to take control our senses. TIME TO STOP ALLOWING FEAR FROM
ORDERING US AROUND!
War and terrorism are powerful causes of fear.
A change in behavior caused by fear is the desired effect and the purpose of
terrorism. Combating this fear is not just desirable. Combating this fear is
the duty of each and every citizen. And helping other citizens to fight this
fear is the duty of every citizen. Mitigating your fear and alleviating fear
in others is your obligation. But how do you fight fear?

Can We Cure Fear?

False Alarm: The Truth about the Epidemic of Fear. Copyright ?2005 by Marc

In early 2004 my daughter, Rebecca, was taking a bath. She was almost three
years old. When the tub's Jacuzzi device turned on, she became petried. I
raced to her side, to find her standing straight up, bright red from crying.
For months afterward, she abhorred baths. As a physician who has studied the
neurobiology of fear, I knew that the prefrontal cortex of her young brain had
just finished wiring its "safety center," where analytical reasoning can
overcome primitive emotions. I tried to appeal to her newly working brain
center to suppress the worry that this tub would always bring the scary
bubbles, but her body's innate response was too strong. By starting with
showers and diverting the focus of her attention from the tub, I was gradually
able to return her to baths. But to this day she is wary of bubbles.
Why is fear so intractable? And what can we do about it? Therapy has provided
succor for many people; others have relied on the strength they get from their
faith or other support networks. But in a world where we regularly witness
hair-raising events--such as the aftermath of suicide bomber attacks in full
color on our living-room televisions, on Web sites and on newspapers' front
pages--is such verbal support enough? Answering a perceived need,
fear-blunting medications are coming onto the scene. Could we--should we--all
simply pop pills to ease our anxieties?
Fear is more than a state of mind; it is chemical. The feeling of alarm arises
from the circuitry of our brains, in the neurochemical exchanges between nerve
cells. Fear is a physical reaction to a hazard. As long as the danger is
direct and real, fear is normal and helps to protect us. Fear also has a
genetic component. A rat will recoil from the odor of a fox, even if that
rodent has spent its whole life in a laboratory. Likewise, we humans are
automatically apprehensive about situations that once threatened our
ancestors.
When one feels threatened, the metabolism revs up in anticipation of an
imminent need to defend oneself or flee. "Fight or flight," or the acute
stress response, was first described in the 1920s by Walter B. Cannon, a
physiologist at Harvard University. Cannon observed that animals, including
humans, react to dangers with a hormonal discharge of the nervous system. The
body unleashes an outpouring of vessel-constricting, heart-thumping hormones,
including epinephrine, norepinephrine and the steroid cortisol. The heart
speeds up and pumps harder, the nerves fire more quickly, the skin cools and
gets goose bumps, the eyes dilate to see better, and the areas of the brain
involved in decision making receive a message that it is time to act. from:

FEAR!
Where does your fear come from?
Think about this question? Where DOES it come from? If you have a fear of
anything, then there has to be a beginning for that fear, it just did not

Where are your fears? How long have you been running
away from them, and how many incarnations have passed since your fears
began? These questions are very important, so why not face the fears you
